Membership
Membership begins on the date that the first payment is made, and lapses if renewal payments are not made.
NOTE:- Lapsed members applying to rejoin must back pay all outstanding membership payments, restart the standing order and pay any setup/admin fee again.
Waiver and Safety
If a member wishes to accept a free piece of equipment, that member must sign a waiver which protects PC Recycler/BLACC and any person representing pcrecycler/BLACC from any claims for damages relating to the acceptance or use of the equipment.
If the member declines to sign the waiver, the equipment will not be released until a “PAT” test has been performed. It will be up to the member to arrange and pay for the test. PC Recycler will supply a list of suitable contractors willing to carry out this task.
Website
A Members website is provided.
Free Computer
Each member of the club can request 1 second user computer (without software) which will be provided free of charge.
Should the member require software installing, there will be a setup/admin charge.
The computer will come with a "return to base" warranty which will remain in force for as long as the membership fees continue to be paid. See description of computer and warranty on club site.
The computer must be collected from PC Recycler workshop.
Computer
All computers will be second hand, generally donated by business, industry, schools or colleges when they upgrade. This means that the equipment will always be more than 3 years old.
Warranty
If the base unit, monitor or keyboard fail, the failed item can be returned to the workshop for an exchange. An appointment must be made before the item is returned, to allow time for a replacement to be prepared. The warranty will remain in force as long as the membership fees continue to be paid.
Loyalty bonus
Members are eligible after two years. A variety of equipment which could include laptops, printers, scanners, high end systems and other special offers, become available to second year and above members. See loyalty bonus link on site for more details.
**These items are not covered by our warranty unless otherwise stated**
Members may only hold 1 type of (loyalty bonus) item at a time, for example, if you claim a laptop, you can only claim a second laptop by returning the first one. This rule is designed to allow members to upgrade their equipment, not for “traders” who want free items to sell.
